Did I Mention....

We are buying our first home!!!! I'm so excited, you have no idea...or maybe you do. I have been researching buying a condo/home for the past two years, and I can't believe we are finally in a position to be able to do it. It was well worth the wait because its such a great time to buy, we were able to find a beautiful home in Daybreak (South Jordan), for much less than it would have been if the market were up. We are buying it from the bank as a short sale, which means it was foreclosed on and they are selling it for less than was owed on it, so we're walking into instant equity. It has been a little longer process than normal because we are getting it from a bank, but it looks like it will be definitely worth it. Its 3,250 square feet, which is HUGE for our first home. Especially compared to the 425 square foot apartment we spent the first two and a half years of marriage in at the University Village. It has a full unfinished basement that we can finish up one day when we need it, but for now we will be just fine using it as storage. Its three bedrooms, 2 bath with a big bonus room over the garage. We don't know what were going to do with the bonus room other than put our big ol' love sac in there! We had an inspector check it out and he was EXTREMELY positive about it. He said he on a scale of 1-10 he would give it a 9.8 and the minor flaws he found are things we can fix for almost no cost. The plan is to close on March 11th, so we should be able to move in that weekend. Wayne hates packing, which is just fine because I'm so pumped I don't mind packing everything, just as long as he will haul it all.

I am so excited to live in Daybreak too! I've had my eye on this development for a couple of years. It reminds me a lot of the neighborhoods back in Virginia that I absolutely love. I just love all the fun looking houses, parks, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, pools, tennis courts, lake, schools, and of course the new TEMPLE. Its just down the street! I also like the idea of not having a huge yard to care for. I grew up taking care of my parents GINORMOUS yard and planters and garden, and I swore I would never have one of those beasts. The only downside is that we don't have room for a tramp, that has always been a dream of mine! If you want to find out more about Daybreak, check out their website - www.daybreakutah.com

Here are some pictures of the house now, decorating
it will be fun but I'll need lots of help :)
I've been glued to HGTV whenever I'm home alone.
(Wayne doesn't appreciate it as much as I do.)

(I love that there is tile that runs from the front door to the kitchen so the carpet won't gets all roughed up.)

I'm so excited for you guys! You can have it all decorated so cute before the new baby comes. I like to watch HGTV also. Sale doesn't like me to watch it because it has a lot of ideas and it can cost money.
When you get settled in I'll have to come and visit.

Congrats on the new house! I want to hear all about the short sale- we have heard mixed reviews about them so I would like to hear your personal experience with it. Please email me! Also, I am a total HGTV junky! I'm actually watching it right now- haha!

Congrats Jeana! We love our house (I think The Village makes you even more grateful - as wonderful as it was) and I am so excited for you to have a house to love. We should get together soon. Did you know Suzanne Mortenson lives in Daybreak?
